The overall construction was good, but we did not hang it as I rejected it as soon as we opened it. The trays and earring hooks were plastic with sprayed on felt. I wouldn't call it "cheap", but I was looking for something that was definitely higher-end. I think it would be a nice choice for a high-school or college student, or if you are on a tight budget. I contacted the seller (Wayfair) and they refunded the price less return shipping ($25) within a day or two.
