These are really large diamonds first off. The backs are great as well. I bought these for my daughter, and she doesn't know the difference, so she was thrilled. Now to the diamond quality:
The diamonds are moderate-heavily included with deposits, very visible (which is very common in earrings btw). So, if you're a man giving these to your wife or girlfriend who is remotely familiar with diamonds, don't do it.
FYI: Cloudy is different than being included with deposits or what they call "feathering". Inclusions change the refraction of light, and thus the diamond cannot sparkle thoroughly, but can still be brilliant if the cut is ideal and the color is clear.
~ A diamond with a lot of inclusions can be colorless, and they are not a lot less expensive in some cases.
~ However, a cloudy diamond can be a fraction of the cost since they are pointless. Because if they are cloudy, then it doesn't matter the cut or the amount of inclusions...either way, it just won't have the brilliance. Those are the type of diamonds you find at chain retail stores for cheap. A cloudy diamond is useless IMO.
Colorless diamonds are sought after and incredibly expensive as you may know. But, if you've ever seen one in person compared to a mediocre diamond, then you'll understand why. You can buy a 1/2 carat clear diamond, and it'll look bigger and more brilliant than the mediocre 1 carat..which is why they cost so much more. I have learned my lesson on that years ago. It's always better to go quality over quantity in the case of diamonds. Don't forget that.
For anyone reading this who is on a budget, but wants to buy something special for that certain someone, I suggest going to a reputable shop that sells used diamond jewelry. They are usually 1/2 the cost or less, but the quality is still there. I believe in "recycled" diamonds, because they don't ever lose their quality..and you can save A LOT of money. Normally those places only sell relatively top-quality anyway, so you can rest assured in getting a decent stone(s).
Anyway, these are not as clear as the picture and each stone will vary. In other words, you may get one stone a little cloudy and the other not so much - so don't be surprised. These are not the great diamonds obviously, they are mediocre at best, but worth the price if it's not for someone you're trying to impress.
Overall: Good price. Great size. Secure backs. Mediocre diamond with a lot of "debris", a little cloudy. Not brilliant. Good cut though, and a decent sparkle.
I don't recommend for a gift, unless it's for someone who doesn't know the difference ;0)
Hope this helps!
